Computer Disposals Limited
Computer Disposals Limited (CDL) disposes of and recycles IT equipment, like PCs, laptops, servers, hard-drives, monitors and printers, as well as offering on-site equipment destruction services. The company says it has developed one of the most comprehensive, yet cost effective, asset retirement solutions in the industry today.
Set up in 1999, CDL has grown from an initial three staff to a current staff of 68. It moved to Halton in 2016 and its new, purpose-fitted warehouse has the capacity to be working upon 200 PCs at any one time. Among its clients are Siemens, Maclaren, the NHS and American Airlines.
To help with its growth plans, CDL approached the Local Growth Hub’s Business Growth Programme, which is based in Halton. The programme is designed to build confidence and capacity in local SMEs by providing direct advice, guidance and information to provide a clear route to sustainable growth. The support it offers can cover business development, financial planning, human resources, international trade, operational review, sales and marketing.
An initial diagnostic found that CDL needed to improve upon its identification of public sector tender opportunities. Subsequent support focused upon the development of processes and documentation to increase success in bidding for public sector contracts. This included the development of a library to efficiency respond to tenders and access to appropriate tender portals.
You can find out more about CDL on its website and about the Business Growth Programme.
