MELO World specialises in creating and developing visual management materials for production and operations facilities. Visual management is an approach to communication that is aimed at ensuring anyone can walk into a workplace and understand what is going on, regardless of language, using signage, diagrams and so on.
Established in 2012, MELO World grew rapidly, securing contracts with DHL and Jaguar Land Rover. It has also recently secured preferred supplier status with Jaguar Land Rover. Turnover increased from £52,000 in 2013 to £265,000 in 2015. The firm is based in Widnes and employs a mixture of operations managers, designers, marketing specialists and sign manufacturers.
To ensure its continued, successful growth, MELO World sought support through the Business Growth Programme. An initial diagnostic identified that the business would benefit from strategic planning support, as well as support for marketing and communications to existing and potential customers.
MELO World also needed to consider whether to continue with its bespoke design and manufacture process or identify a range of standard products. Specialist support was provided in the areas of the identification of strategic growth objectives and associated plans and the development of a marketing and communication plan.
Through its work with the Business Growth Programme, MELO World has been able to continue its growth. It has moved to larger premises in Halton and has recruited an additional two staff.
