Applications are open for the 2019 China-UK Entrepreneurship Competition, which is “an opportunity for students and SMEs to apply their knowledge and business creativity on an international stage.” The competition focuses on eight areas of technological innovation: robotics, automation systems and Internet of Things, satellite and space technology, medical technology and regenerative medicine, synthetic biology, agricultural technology, high-end materials, energy storage and energy saving, IT and digital technologies.

Finalists will have the chance to visit China, pitch in front of Chinese provincial government officials and corporates representatives and win cash prizes. In previous years, the finals were hosted in cities such as Chongqing, Tianjin, Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

The winners will receive cash prizes of up to £1,000 for graduates and £2,000 for SMEs. The top four teams from either category will be provided with a complimentary investment service for six months and, during that period, each team will be introduced to at least one Chinese investor based on their different circumstances.

There will also be a trip subsidy of up to £1,000 per team, free access to 10 Cocoon Global Innovation events (worth £1,000) and the opportunity to participate freely for one day and one night at the Magna Carta Island event (worth £2,000).

The deadline for applications is 31st June 2019. To apply, visit the competition’s website: sinouk.org.uk
