Case Study: Digital marketing support helps business to blossom for Willow Printing
Newton-le-Willows based Willow Printing is growing thanks to support from St Helens Chamber’s Business Growth Programme. Having approached the Chamber for advice on how to generate growth, the company was referred to the Business Growth Programme to receive 12 hours of fully-funded support.
Following a free business diagnostic, the business received digital marketing support from a specialist consultant along with advice on how to tender for large commercial contracts. The support helped the company to enhance its online and social media presences, develop a professional image and deliver effective advertising.
Cheryl Lamble, Director at Willow Printing, said: “With a new online ordering service, we wanted to make sure everything we do follows digital marketing best practice – for example making our content search engine friendly. The strategy that we developed will ensure that our website will enable us to present our offering to bigger blue chip companies, and we expect that it will help us to win new contracts and grow the business.”
Following the specialist advice the company has taken on a new member of staff to maintain and continually improve the website in line with the marketing strategy.
Cheryl continued: “I would definitely recommend the Business Growth Programme to other businesses no matter how well they think they are doing. Business is looking really good for us and we have already secured a couple of new clients since developing our social media strategy.
“As a Chamber Member we are kept up to date with the latest support and help on offer. We feel that Business Growth Programme really helped our business to focus on our goals. The help and funding we receive from the Chamber benefits our business – it’s always important to have another point of view and we like to ensure we’re giving out the correct message to existing and potential clients.”
Launched in 2016 and funded by the European Regional Development Fund and St.Helens Council, the Business Growth Programme is designed to help businesses operating in the business-to-business sector that want to grow and recruit new staff, but are finding obstacles in their way.
Following a free diagnostic to identify any issues standing in the way of growth ambitions, the Chamber’s Business Advisers will put together a bespoke action plan for businesses. Companies will then receive fully-funded advice and support from Chamber Business Advisers and specialist Business Consultants, offering practical solutions to achieve their goals and improve their competitiveness.
The Business Growth Programme is available to businesses based in St Helens and is open to both Chamber members and non-members. It is part of the Liverpool City Region Integrated Business Support (LCRIBS) project and is partially funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
