Government campaign to make finding business support easier

Published on Business stage: Scaling, Starting, Thinking, Unlocking

The Government wants to make Britain the best place in the world to start and grow a business – a place where you can build on your ideas and find success.

As part of a new campaign, Government is bringing all of the various support schemes together in one place on a website, helping you find the right support for your business to help growth and productivity and save you valuable time in searching and applying for support.

You can now access advice and support on the Business Support website.

Support schemes are split into four themes, to help you easily find what you are looking for:

  • Finance and business planning – including funding for new businesses and business growth, dealing with late payments, and equity and debt finance
  • Leadership and Talent – including mentoring schemes, help with recruiting, developing leadership skills or joining a network.
  • Innovation and Technology – including funding for innovation, adoption of new technology, intellectual property and finding partners for innovation.
  • Exporting – including support for doing business internationally and expanding online.

You can also find one-to-one advice by calling the Business Support Helpline 0300 456 3565 or by clicking on the site’s LiveChat function. The website also links to local organisations who understand the challenges and opportunities specific to your area, such as local Growth Hubs and Local Enterprise Partnerships. They provide advice on the support available and recommend the schemes most suited to your business.
