Industrial Cooling Equipment warms up with strategy and planning guidance

Industrial Cooling Equipment specialises in the design, supply, installation and maintenance of industrial and commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems, as well as delivering some heat recovery and energy conservation services. It is a family-run business based in Runcorn and was set up in 1935.

With the company looking to grow and develop, it wanted some support for rolling out some planned changes within the business. Through initial conversations with Growth Hub Halton, it was determined that the business needed to undertake a wide-ranging business strategy and planning exercise. This would allow it to properly assess the proposed changes and requirements.

Following a subsequent diagnostic, the business was referred into the Business Growth Programme. The programme is designed to build confidence and capacity in local SMEs by providing direct advice, guidance and information to provide a clear route to sustainable growth. The support it offers can cover business development, financial planning, human resources, international trade, operational review, sales and marketing.

Through the programme, Industrial Cooling Equipment received specialist support to assist in the development of a revised business plan and to implement a restructuring of business operations between services / maintenance and contract work. A recent review undertaken with the business has indicated that the support proved successful and that additional jobs will be recruited for following implementation of the new plan.
