Launch of Innovative New Co-Worker Space for Bootle

Friday 31st March saw guests from the public, private and charity sectors gather to mark the launch of DEPOT|TWO|ZERO, an exciting new business incubator based at Merton House in Bootle.

Set up to support budding entrepreneurs and sole traders who are keen to work alongside like-minded colleagues in a collaborative setting, the ‘Depot’ will offer members affordable co-worker space ‘with all mod cons’, along with bespoke training and mentoring provided by experts and formal and informal networking opportunities. Membership packages will be flexible, catering to the different needs and budgets of individuals. And because DEPOT|TWO|ZERO is a not-for-profit project, supported by the Day Rigby Charitable Trust, any income remaining after running costs will be invested back into improving and the facilities and services on offer.

Speaking at the launch, Paul Day, chair of the project steering committee said:

‘Our aim has been to create a friendly, inclusive, creative environment and I think we’ve achieved that.’

‘Starting up in business comes with costs attached, so affordability for our workspace members is key and we’ve worked hard to keep costs low and flexible. Similar co-worker facilities exist in Liverpool city centre but ours will be, we think, unique to Sefton and unique in its affordability and accessibility.’

‘DEPOT|TWO|ZERO will allow individuals - from the borough and from the wider city region - to take a step up the professional ladder; to move beyond the kitchen table or the spare room as they work hard to kick-start or grow their businesses.’

‘It will also host training seminars and skills workshops designed to meet the needs and interests of members’.

‘We’ve created a fantastic space and are delighted by the positive response we’ve had at the launch today.  We’re looking forward to seeing the Depot buzzing with entrepreneurial activity!’

The DEPOT|TWO|ZERO website will go live very soon.  In the meantime, those interested in the project are encouraged to find out more by following @DEPOTTWOZERO on Twitter or by contacting the Depot direct at admin@depottwozero or on 0151 958 1207.
